We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Precision Agriculture Specialist at Southern States Cooperative. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to our customers in implementing and delivering precision agriculture programs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain relationships with customers to understand their precision agriculture needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Learn and develop technical skills in precision agriculture tools, resources, and program administration.
- Collaborate with our sales and corporate teams to develop and implement precision agriculture programs.
- Provide training and support to customers on the use of precision agriculture tools and systems.
- Assist with marketing and promoting precision agriculture programs to customers.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of industry trends, improvements, and updates to precision agriculture products and services.
- Bachelor's Degree in Precision Agriculture, Agricultural Business, or related field.
- Up to one year of experience in the agricultural industry with knowledge of best practices related to farming and crop production.
- Valid Driver's License and ability to operate a motor vehicle safely.
- Certified Crop Advisor (or ability to obtain).
- Ability to learn and develop technical skills in precision agriculture tools and systems.
This role requires frequent travel to customer sites and may involve working in a variety of environments, including on-site at customer farms, SSC facilities, and office settings. The ability to work safely and effectively in these environments is essential.
Physical DemandsThis role requires the ability to perform physical activities such as bending, stooping, and lifting, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
Tools and EquipmentThis role requires the use of specialized tools and systems related to precision agriculture, including GPS, GIS, and soil sampling tools.
