Maternity Care Clinical Support Technician

The Maternity Care Center is in search of a dedicated Clinical Support Technician. This role encompasses responsibilities as both a Nursing Assistant and a Health Unit Coordinator, ensuring comprehensive support within our 28-bed mother/baby unit that caters to both low and high-risk postpartum patients.
About Us:
Our team possesses extensive expertise in postpartum care, including support for vaginal and cesarean deliveries, late preterm infants, and newborn care. We are proud to be recognized as a Baby Friendly designated facility, committed to family-centered care practices such as rooming-in and sibling visitation, alongside consultations from lactation specialists.
Incentive Program:
This position is eligible for our Nursing Support Incentive Program, which offers a total of $5,000 distributed over a three-year commitment.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time role requiring 36 hours per week, with 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Benefits:
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off (PTO) that accumulates based on hours worked. Attendance at a mandatory week-long hospital orientation is required, with sessions held bi-weekly.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist healthcare professionals during routine examinations and procedures, ensuring the availability of necessary equipment and supplies.
2. Monitor patient care documentation, promptly reporting any significant changes in patient conditions to the appropriate medical staff.
3. Perform various clerical duties, including managing workloads, greeting visitors, and maintaining medical records.
4. Conduct quality assurance audits and maintain inventory of supplies while providing administrative support.
5. Deliver direct personal care to patients as outlined in their care plans, including assistance with daily activities and vital sign measurements.
6. Reinforce educational materials provided to patients, ensuring their understanding of care instructions.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must be listed as a Nursing Assistant I by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Six months of clerical or customer service experience is preferred.
- Fluency in verbal and written English is essential.
