Job Overview

Position: Operations Assistant Manager - VPC

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Operations Assistant Manager to support the management of all functions related to GLOVIS VPC operations. This role will provide essential leadership and direction to ensure that customer satisfaction is consistently achieved and surpassed. The Assistant Manager will oversee the staff at Glovis EV, ensuring that both development and organizational objectives are met.

Department: Vehicle Processing Center (VPC)

Reports to: Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations for on-site personnel, focusing on performance management and staff development.
  • Assess staffing requirements to achieve production targets.
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to review production schedules for vehicle output.
  • Analyze vessel schedules to evaluate vehicle storage capabilities.
  • Implement enhancements in vehicle processing procedures.
  • Conduct personnel activities including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Monitor the performance of team members and partners.
  • Manage financial outcomes to align with quarterly and annual business objectives.
  • Drive initiatives to improve efficiency, optimize service delivery, and fulfill business goals at Glovis EA ports.
  • Utilize comprehensive knowledge of all business phases to ensure operational efficiency and sustainability.
  • Engage in hands-on activities to gain insights for validating and enhancing existing processes.
  • Ensure cost recovery is effectively managed.
  • With a thorough understanding of Glovis EA's cost and revenue frameworks, guarantee that all cost-incurring activities are recoverable and accurately billed.
  • Formulate monthly and annual business plans for financial and production metrics.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in operations is required.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with operations management systems is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with database management systems.
  • Ability to efficiently direct work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability to change is essential.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills are necessary.

This position typically requires prolonged periods of sitting, typing, and computer work. The role may also involve occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds. Accommodations will be provided based on individual needs and accessibility.

Compensation and Benefits

The position is eligible for GLOVIS EA's comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, and generous paid time off.

Salary Range: The estimated base salary for this position is between $80,000 and $86,000. This range is provided in accordance with applicable salary transparency laws and reflects a good faith estimate of what GLOVIS EA expects to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as specific skills, years of experience, market conditions, and travel requirements.
