Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant Operations Manager to join our team at SCAD - Savannah College of Art and Design. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining the efficiency and good working conditions of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, usage, and maintenance
  • Ensure proper storage and transportation of equipment to and from engineering for repair
  • Coordinate with staff to ensure adequate staffing numbers on duty
  • Monitor and evaluate problem reports, escalating issues to the appropriate personnel as needed
  • Enter faculty requests into the checkout system and maintain the database
  • Print and review kits for the next day, ensuring all necessary materials are available
  • Supervise and train staff on equipment checkout procedures
  • Import assets into the WCS, properly formatted
  • Sign overnight equipment approval for students and arrange for barcodes for equipment in circulation
  • Conduct inventory checks for equipment prior to each quarter
  • Monitor student films on location for proper safety procedures
Requirements
  • Two years of experience in a film/video production company or equipment-rental facility
  • Team leadership skills, with the ability to lead, delegate, and motivate subordinates under tight deadlines
  • Good oral and written communication skills, with excellent planning, organizing, time-, and work-management abilities
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Confidence, tact, patience, and diplomacy when dealing with complex situations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or three years of college and one year of related experience
Work Environment

The university work week is Sunday through Saturday, with most offices open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings, to accommodate business needs.
