We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Intake Representative to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our Ambulatory Care team, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless patient experiences from initial contact to registration and scheduling.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to gather and document accurate information.
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits, and obtain necessary authorizations for services.
- Register patients, obtain necessary paperwork, and collect co-payments or payments as required.
- Coordinate scheduling, re-scheduling, and cancellations, ensuring timely and efficient use of resources.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries, and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the Ambulatory Care department.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; 1 year of related experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in registration software.
