The Communications team at Mediabistro is seeking a Communications Officer with a strong background in strategic communications and risk management to join our dynamic team.

Reporting to the Senior Communications Manager, the successful candidate will be integral to our communications efforts, focusing on assessing stakeholder engagement and managing communication risks associated with various projects.

This role will involve participating in project meetings and assisting teams in identifying and mitigating stakeholder risks throughout project lifecycles.

The Communications Officer will collaborate closely with technical teams across various regions, ensuring effective communication strategies are implemented to support project objectives.


Duties and Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be a proactive, high-performing team member who is adaptable and flexible in contributing to our communication initiatives.

This position is suited for an individual with strong interpersonal skills, strategic thinking capabilities, and a passion for effective communication in a fast-paced environment.


Main responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating stakeholder and communication risks during the project development process.
  • Offering guidance and support to project teams to ensure effective communication and risk management throughout project execution.
  • Reviewing essential project documentation, participating in key meetings, and assisting in the recruitment and management of communication consultants to enhance stakeholder engagement.
  • Providing strategic insights and technical support to senior management and project teams for communication and business development initiatives.
  • Collaborating with the communications team to highlight successful projects through various communication materials.
Selection Criteria

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., communications, public relations, or related discipline) with a minimum of 8 years of experience in communications, public affairs, or a related area.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with key stakeholders and mitigate communication risks effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to adapt to new challenges in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Proficient English writing and editing skills.
  • Familiarity with media organizations and current communication trends.
