Head of Integrated Communications

Role Summary:
As the Head of Integrated Communications, you will report directly to the Vice President of Strategy and be instrumental in guiding a talented team of creative professionals. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the formulation and implementation of cohesive communication strategies tailored for our clients. You will lead impactful communication initiatives across diverse platforms, ensuring a harmonious blend of various communication disciplines. Your proficiency in public relations, marketing, branding, digital media, and advertising will be crucial in delivering thorough and effective communication solutions. In this leadership role, you will mentor a diverse and committed team of client service experts, while also contributing strategically to operational planning, innovation, and business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Development: Formulate and execute integrated communication strategies that align with clients' objectives. Identify target demographics, core messages, and suitable communication channels.
- Client Relations: Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor who comprehends their business requirements. Collaborate closely with clients to offer strategic guidance and ensure effective communication outcomes.
- Team Management: Direct a team of communication specialists, providing mentorship and support. Encourage a collaborative and innovative work atmosphere that promotes teamwork and professional growth.
- Campaign Oversight: Supervise the creation and implementation of integrated communication campaigns across various platforms, including public relations, social media, digital marketing, advertising, and events. Ensure consistent messaging and brand representation.
- Digital Engagement: Stay informed about digital marketing trends and utilize various digital platforms to enhance brand visibility and engagement. Develop and execute social media strategies to foster audience growth and improve online presence.
- Performance Measurement: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the success of communication campaigns. Provide regular reporting and analysis to clients, highlighting outcomes and suggesting areas for improvement.
- Financial Management: Oversee project budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation, adherence to financial targets, and return on investment (ROI) to meet the strategic goals of Octane.
- Business Growth: Propel new and existing business development efforts by identifying and assessing new growth opportunities, crafting pitches and proposals, and expanding the company's client base.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in media relations, crisis communication, and digital communication strategies.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record in drafting and placing press materials.
- Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining client relationships.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and planning capabilities, with a history of successful communication strategy development.
- Able to perform effectively under pressure and make sound decisions in uncertain situations.
- Skilled in managing multiple priorities and projects involving various stakeholders.
- Competent in data analysis and interpretation, providing actionable insights.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in integrated communications, ideally within an agency setting.
- Comprehensive marketing experience with 5-7 years in progressively responsible roles.
- At least 5 years of proven leadership experience managing a diverse integrated communications team.
- A demonstrated history of success and high performance.

- Ability to develop strong relationships with staff, stakeholders, and clients to effectively implement marketing and communication strategies.
- Capability to define and execute marketing communications strategies that enhance awareness of the organization's mission and activities.
- Experience in planning and executing omnichannel marketing strategies for both new and existing clients.
- Proficient in collaborating with executive-level clients to validate and update strategic objectives.
- Skilled in ensuring strategic, integrated planning and execution to optimize operations and impact.
- Responsible for recruiting, hiring, and mentoring team members.
- Adept at shaping data ROI reporting to provide insights on campaign effectiveness.
- Experience in managing budgets to minimize expenses and maximize ROI.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about trends and competitive movements.
- Establish and implement best practices across all marketing and communications functions.
