**Job Summary**

Familia Dental is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Dental Office Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our front desk staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service and ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for our patients.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Welcoming and escorting patients in a professional and friendly manner
  • Gathering information from patients and scanning it into our Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Confirming insurance eligibility and coverage for each patient
  • Scheduling appointments and assisting with appointment confirmation calls
  • Answering patient questions regarding co-pays and deductibles and collecting payments as needed
  • Scheduling and rescheduling appointments for patients
  • Calling patients to confirm upcoming appointments or to reschedule missed appointments
  • Recognizing signs of a dental emergency and ensuring proper and timely response
  • Understanding and explaining insurance benefits and financial options to patients
  • Maintaining a neat and organized workspace
  • Protecting the confidentiality of patient information
  • Notifying the Office Manager of equipment trouble or general safety concerns
  • Attending and participating in morning huddles, chart reviews, and regular office meetings
  • Understanding and following HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality
  • Understanding and following state and Federal OSHA laws, infection control, and safety standards in the dental office
  • Learning and following Familia Dental's administrative and operational procedures
  • Reviewing and following the Employee Handbook to ensure consistent standards
  • Communicating with the Office Manager to establish office goals and insurance concerns
  • Maintaining a professional working environment within the office team
  • Cleaning, disposing of trash, and submitting trouble ticket submissions to correct any maintenance issues

**Requirements**

  • Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand information and effectively present it to patients
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out details written or verbally instructed
  • Basic computer knowledge and experience with dental management software (EagleSoft experience preferred)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment
  • Detail-oriented and able to follow insurance plan rules and protocols
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to be patient and sensitive to patient emotions
  • Listening skills and ability to follow directions from a Dentist or supervisor
  • Organizational skills and ability to ensure all record-keeping requirements are fully and accurately completed

**Preferred Qualifications**

  • Previous dental office experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
