Senior Mechanical Engineer

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the design, testing, and construction of advanced submarine classes, including the LOS ANGELES, OHIO, SEAWOLF, VIRGINIA, and COLUMBIA Classes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering support for submarine safety (SUBSAFE) requirements.
- Contribute to underwater explosion (UNDEX) large vehicle shock test programs.
- Oversee fastener engineering and ensure compliance with design and construction standards.
Your responsibilities will include conducting internal audits, developing training materials, and creating Design Review Procedure booklets. You will also be tasked with generating class and ship design reports, maintaining certification lists, and reviewing safety certification boundaries.
In addition, you will be responsible for the concept, design, procurement, fabrication, and installation of equipment for underwater shock test vehicles. Your role will support test operations at designated government sites and involve thorough documentation of test results.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering.
- A minimum of 2 years of engineering experience.
- Ability to climb ladders and work in various environments.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights or weekends as required.
- Travel may be necessary for certain projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering is highly desirable.
