About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Ocean Systems Engineer to join our team at Ed Wallach Search Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing advanced ocean systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support system engineering and program management in the design, fabrication, and execution of advanced ocean systems.
  • Design, analyze, and engineer advanced prototype systems through analyses, trade studies, and other technical evaluations.
  • Design, fabricate, and assemble components and systems, including identifying recommended tests, documenting, executing, and reporting results.
  • Travel to test and deploy equipment in the field, conduct acoustic testing, and analyze data.
  • Contribute technical content for new proposals, products, ideas, or other business development pursuits.
  • Work effectively as an individual contributor to a team with team members at remote locations.
Required Attributes and Skills
  • Understanding of system documentation and design tools, including Magic Blocks, Cameo Systems Modeler, Ansys, Relyence reliability tools, MS Visio, and MS Project.
  • Experience with hardware and software development, including specification, fabrication, wiring, integration, testing, and deployment.
  • Experience with engineering analysis tools, such as Mathcad and MATLAB.
  • Experience with mechanical and/or electrical design tools, including Altium and Solidworks.
  • Experience with software programming languages, such as JAVA, C#, C++, and Python.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
Desired Attributes and Skills
  • Demonstrated leadership on small to medium technical programs/projects.
  • Understanding of acoustic propagation and scattering for underwater and structural applications.
  • Experience with microcontrollers, including Arduino, Basic Stamp, and Raspberry Pi.
  • Experience with 3D printing technologies and software.
  • Ability to read and create mechanical and/or electrical fabrication drawings.
