The Bulldog PALs Leaders are essential in fostering a supportive academic environment for students. They will:
- Participate in scheduled class meetings, assisting in both laboratory settings and remote or in-person classes.
- Maintain regular communication with faculty members to ensure alignment and support.
- Exemplify positive academic behaviors and attitudes to encourage a productive learning atmosphere.
- Address student concerns and facilitate referrals to appropriate academic or support services.
- Organize and lead two study sessions weekly, tailored to student availability and needs.
- Guide students in developing effective time management, note-taking, and exam preparation skills, promoting their academic success without re-teaching course content.
- Monitor student attendance and submit weekly study session plans through the designated online platform.
- Assist students in navigating course materials and submitting assignments electronically.
- Provide ongoing support through online platforms, email, or in-person meetings.
- Share strategies for effective communication with faculty members.
- Clarify course expectations for students.
- Administer and manage various Bulldog PAL-related surveys.
- Ensure access to all necessary course materials, including textbooks and online resources.
Qualifications:
- Completion of the relevant course with a grade of B or higher.
- Faculty recommendation from the instructor of the PAL course.
Compensation:
Compensation is based on a part-time schedule of 10 hours per week at a rate of $18.50 per hour.
