Position Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned accounting expert to fill the role of Senior Auditor. This position offers specialized training in business taxation, focusing on state-specific tax regulations and their practical implications for business personal property. You will have the chance to engage in travel, work remotely, and collaborate with businesses across various sectors, gaining invaluable experience. In this role, you will significantly impact state and local governments, contributing to work that positively affects communities.

Location Requirements:

This position is remote; however, candidates should be situated in or around the Reno, Nevada area to accommodate occasional travel and site assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough cost reconciliations on business personal property tax filings for complex properties submitted to various state and local tax authorities.
  • Conduct audits for businesses across multiple jurisdictions throughout the United States.
  • Work collaboratively with corporate accounting teams, CPA firms, and tax representatives to gather necessary financial documentation.
  • Carry out site evaluations at taxpayer locations.
  • Engage closely with local assessors' offices to ascertain audit requirements and review findings.
  • Support and collaborate with team members to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Maintain frequent communication with taxpayers and government clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
  • A minimum of four years of professional experience in accounting; prior audit experience is not mandatory.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication and public relations abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel, with approximately 15%-20% local travel and 10%-15% overnight travel expected.
  • Experience in property tax is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range: $58,000 - $63,000 annually.
  • Quarterly performance incentives.
