Position Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned accounting expert to fill the role of Senior Auditor. This position provides specialized training in business taxation, focusing on state-specific tax regulations and their real-world applications in business personal property. You will have the chance to engage in travel, work remotely, and collaborate with various businesses across multiple sectors, enriching your professional experience. At TMA, your contributions will significantly impact state and local governments, facilitating work that benefits communities.

Remote Work Considerations:

This role is primarily remote; however, candidates should be situated in or around the Reno, Nevada area to accommodate occasional travel and site assessments.

Key Duties:

  • Execute thorough cost reconciliations on business personal property tax records for intricate properties submitted to various state and local tax authorities.
  • Conduct audits for businesses across diverse jurisdictions throughout the United States.
  • Collaborate with corporate accounting teams, CPA firms, and tax representatives to gather necessary financial documentation.
  • Perform site visits at taxpayer locations.
  • Work closely with local assessors' offices to ascertain audit requirements and review findings.
  • Support and collaborate with team members to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Engage frequently with taxpayers and government clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
  • A minimum of four years of professional experience in accounting; prior audit experience is not mandatory.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication and public relations skills.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel, with approximately 15%-20% local travel and 10%-15% overnight travel expected.
  • Experience in property tax is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.

Compensation Package:

  • Salary range: $58,000 - $63,000 annually.
  • Quarterly performance incentives.
