Position Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned accounting professional to take on the role of Senior Auditor. This position offers specialized training in business taxation, focusing on state-specific tax regulations and their practical implications for business personal property. The role includes opportunities for travel, remote work, and collaboration with various businesses across multiple sectors, providing invaluable experience. At TMA, your contributions will significantly impact state and local governments, enabling work that benefits communities.

Location Considerations:

This role is primarily remote; however, candidates should be situated in or around the Reno, Nevada area to accommodate occasional travel and site assessments.

Key Duties:

  • Execute thorough cost reconciliations on business personal property tax filings for intricate properties submitted to various state and local tax authorities.
  • Conduct audits for businesses across diverse jurisdictions throughout the United States.
  • Engage with corporate accounting teams, CPA firms, and tax representatives to gather essential financial documentation.
  • Perform site evaluations at taxpayer locations.
  • Collaborate closely with local assessors' offices to ascertain audit requirements and review findings.
  • Support and collaborate with team members to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Maintain frequent communication with taxpayers and government clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in accounting; prior audit experience is not mandatory.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel.
  • Exceptional communication and public relations abilities.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel, with approximately 15%-20% local travel and 10%-15% overnight travel required.
  • Experience in property tax is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range: $58,000 - $63,000 annually.
  • Quarterly performance incentives.
