Position Overview:

The State of New York is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Director of Nursing 3 Psychiatric. This position is crucial as it involves serving as the Chief Nursing Officer and a key member of the executive management team at a prominent psychiatric center.

Job Responsibilities:

As the Director of Nursing 3 Psychiatric, your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Leading and managing the nursing department, ensuring high-quality care for individuals with mental health conditions across various settings including inpatient, outpatient, and community environments.
  • Developing and implementing nursing policies, procedures, and programs to enhance service delivery.
  • Overseeing the recruitment, training, and ongoing education of nursing and direct care personnel.
  • Monitoring staffing levels, assignments, and schedules to maintain optimal care standards.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards of care.
  • Preparing for and facilitating regulatory visits and surveys.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
  • A valid New York State license and current registration as a registered professional nurse.
  • A Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • A minimum of three years of post-licensure clinical and administrative nursing experience, with at least two years in a management role overseeing nursing programs in a mental health or related setting.
