About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team at ITW Food Equipment Group. As a Mechanical Designer, you will play a critical role in the design and development of our food machines products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and modify mechanical parts and assemblies using SolidWorks, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Implement engineering change processes to update designs and improve product quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quality, manufacturing, marketing, and suppliers, to refine design requirements and ensure manufacturability.
  • Manage complex bill of materials (BOMs) to effectively implement changes across multiple product lines and stock-keeping units (SKU).
  • Communicate design changes and updates to stakeholders, including quality, manufacturing, and suppliers.
  • Support design efforts during new product development, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience designing for manufacturing processes, including casting, machining, molding, and fabrication.
  • 3+ years of experience in SolidWorks (or comparable CAD systems) with advanced modeling skills.
  • 3+ years of experience with engineering change/revision control (ECN) or similar processing of product line changes.
  • Excellent print comprehension and detailing skills, with a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with intermediate PC skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's (2-yr.) degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.

Work Environment

You will work in a team-oriented office and laboratory environment, with a focus on innovation and collaboration. PPE is required, including steel toe shoes and eye protection in the manufacturing setting.
