We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team at ITW Food Equipment Group. As a Mechanical Designer, you will play a critical role in the design and development of our food machines products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and modify mechanical parts and assemblies using SolidWorks, ensuring accuracy and precision.
  • Implement engineering change processes to update designs and improve product quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quality, manufacturing, marketing, and suppliers, to refine design requirements and ensure manufacturability.
  • Manage complex bill of materials (BOMs) to effectively implement changes across multiple product lines and stock-keeping units (SKU).
  • Communicate design changes and updates to stakeholders, ensuring seamless implementation.
  • Support design efforts during new product development, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience designing for manufacturing processes, including casting, machining, molding, and fabrication.
  • 3+ years of experience in SolidWorks (or comparable CAD systems), including advanced modeling.
  • 3+ years of experience with engineering change/revision control (ECN) or similar processing of product line changes.
  • Excellent print comprehension and detailing skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude with machines and assemblies, with a focus on mixers and slicers.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Intermediate PC skills, including Microsoft Office and general computer system proficiency.
  • Bonus: Associate's (2-yr.) degree in mechanical engineering or similar.

Working Conditions

  • Work in a team-oriented office and laboratory environment.
  • PPE required: Steel toe shoes and eye protection in manufacturing setting.
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 35 pounds.
