Overview:

The role of the Allocator is pivotal in overseeing the strategic distribution of fashion merchandise to retail locations within designated categories.

Key responsibilities include optimizing the allocation process, devising effective merchandise distribution plans, determining inventory setups for new stores, and ensuring the smooth flow of products to retail outlets. Allocators also conduct thorough performance analyses, providing data-driven insights to enhance future strategies.

The Allocator's primary objective is to maintain optimal inventory levels across distribution centers and stores, managing inventory turnover discrepancies to maximize sales and profitability.

Collaboration with various teams is essential to address any inventory challenges related to fashion merchandise.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage the fashion inventory allocation strategy for approximately 700 to 1,000 SKUs, contributing to significant annual sales.
  • Collaborate with Merchants to develop and present a Merchandise Allocation Plan (MAP) for each seasonal item, ensuring alignment with the overall assortment vision.
  • Conduct weekly analytical reviews of in-season sales and inventory turnover to identify performance trends and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Oversee the volume grading process, determining optimal criteria and strategies for effective execution and planning.
  • Post-season, deliver comprehensive cluster analyses and assortment recommendations to enhance sales and productivity.
  • Work closely with the New Store Team to establish seasonal assortments for new locations, determining unit quantities and managing merchandise flow.
  • Control merchandise distribution by establishing effective hold and flow strategies from distribution centers to retail locations.
  • Adhere to a seasonal deployment calendar to optimize the timing of merchandise releases.
  • Monitor held fashion inventory in distribution centers to ensure timely adjustments and releases.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects with significant impact on company performance.
  • Participate in weekly meetings, providing valuable insights and contributions.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution or an Associate's Degree with relevant experience preferred.

Experience:
A minimum of two years in retail operations or merchandise allocation is preferred.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel skills, along with familiarity with merchandise management software.


Other Skills:

Strong organizational and prioritization abilities, effective problem-solving skills, capacity to meet tight deadlines, and excellent communication skills.
