Position: Project Manager

Location: Ontario, CA

Duration: 12 Months

Job Type: Contract

Work Type: Onsite

Travel: 20% travel required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the comprehensive project timeline and budget, including management reporting for various projects primarily located on the west coast.
  • Generate project status updates that address timelines, budgets, safety protocols, and outstanding issues.
  • Assess contractor performance in relation to cost and schedule adherence.
  • Develop detailed user criteria documentation for facility project activities.
  • Create scope of work documents for the procurement of architectural and construction services.
  • Supervise Project Engineers in reviewing specifications, utility standards, and drawings while coordinating with clients.
  • Facilitate architect/engineer site visits and manage responses to contractor inquiries.
  • Oversee the delivery and evaluation of shop drawings and submissions.
  • Participate in job site meetings with contractors and consultants to track progress.
  • Conduct initial reviews of vendor and contractor payment requests, ensuring alignment with the approved schedule of values.
  • Evaluate, negotiate, and provide recommendations on proposed change directives and change orders.
  • Manage the contractor's Quality Control program, ensuring adherence to established quality procedures.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Experience in project management within construction or engineering firms.
  • Over 5 years of construction project management experience handling multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proven track record with individual project sizes of $1M or more.
  • Technical expertise in design/build construction engineering and schedule management.
  • Experience leading teams of project engineers, construction coordinators, and safety personnel.
  • Background in constructing light industrial facilities, warehouses, or office spaces.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project).

Preferred:

  • Technical knowledge of project scheduling and estimating.
  • General understanding of construction safety protocols and requirements.
  • Familiarity with software tools such as AutoCAD, Blue Beam, Microsoft Visio, and PlanGrid.
