Financial Accountant

Position Objective: Oversee designated accounting responsibilities. Deliver accounting services ethically and in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Qualifications/Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline
- Minimum of two years' experience in general accounting practices or a comparable mix of education and experience
- Strong organizational abilities
- Proficient in computer applications (Microsoft Office, accounting software)
- Self-motivated with the capacity to work autonomously
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team
- Commitment to the mission and vision of Rosecrance
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to work hours set by the Finance Director and any additional hours necessary for assigned duties.
- Monthly Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and post journal entries,
- Upload journal entries,
- Reconcile assigned accounts,
- Calculate accrued expenses for month-end entries,
- Review journal entries for compliance with GAAP,
- Authorize journal entries.
- Banking and Cash Management:
- Prepare daily or weekly deposits,
- Verify bank transactions,
- Reconcile cash receipts with journal postings,
- Maintain check registers,
- Conduct monthly bank reconciliations,
- Perform petty cash audits.
- Utilization Analysis:
- Generate monthly fee-for-service utilization reports,
- Compile monthly grant utilization reports,
- Analyze reports for trends or issues,
- Provide insights for performance enhancements in finance or program operations.
- Reporting and Schedules:
- Prepare reconciliation schedules and other requested reports,
- Distribute internal financial statements,
- Identify opportunities for improvements in finance processes.
- Annual Audit Preparation:
- Compile audit schedules as directed,
- Review and validate schedules.
- Project Involvement:
- Participate in various projects as required,
- Support the implementation of new technologies and procedures.
- Provide support for the Controller and other accounting staff as necessary.
- Engage as a member of the Finance team and contribute to team meetings and initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with ethical standards and legal requirements.
- Deliver outstanding customer service consistently.
- Act as a role model for colleagues and clients, exemplifying positive relations.
- Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.
Work Schedule: 8-hour shifts
- Shift: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
- Monday through Friday
- Hybrid work options available post-training.
