Role Overview
The Manufacturing Engineering team at Amplify Cell Technologies is seeking enthusiastic Manufacturing Equipment Engineers to play a pivotal role in the design and development of battery cell production machinery.

Battery cells represent one of the most intricate and demanding components engineered and produced at Amplify Cell Technologies. This position offers a unique chance to contribute to our state-of-the-art manufacturing operations. The electric vehicle sector is a rapidly evolving and high-demand field where you will engage in the creation and advancement of cutting-edge, high-speed, and ultra-high-scale automated manufacturing systems.

As a Manufacturing Equipment Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to test, validate, and implement equipment into production.   • About Us: Amplify Cell Technologies is a joint venture formed by Accelera, PACCAR, Daimler Truck, and EVE, dedicated to manufacturing battery cells primarily for the Commercial Vehicle and Energy Storage Systems sectors.

    What You Will Achieve at Amplify:
    • Transform equipment concepts into full-scale production.
    • Oversee equipment suppliers or internal design teams through various development and deployment phases.
    • Define station requirements including work content, automation versus manual processes, and redundancy needs.
    • Collaborate with industrial engineering to establish material flow strategies within the facility.
    • Identify and strategize utility needs and distribution (e.g., compressed air, process water).
    • Conduct process failure mode and effects analysis (PFMEA).
    • Create equipment timing charts.
    • Supervise equipment installation and coordinate with building and utilities teams.
    • Develop and execute equipment validation plans.
    • Draft comprehensive Manufacturing Instructions to document new processes.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Controls, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
    • A minimum of 3-4 years of practical experience in a manufacturing setting.
    • Experience with new equipment design and installations.
    • Implementation of large manufacturing lines.
    • Familiarity with industrial engineering principles such as line balancing and timing charts.
    • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
    • Proficiency in designing mechanical equipment, fixtures, and tooling using CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
    • Understanding of tolerance stack-up.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment safety systems.
    • Experience with PLC controls (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens).
    • Familiarity with MES and database system architecture, including data tracking using Python and/or MYSQL.
  • Compensation is based on experience and qualifications.

    Note: The successful candidate will initially be employed under Daimler Truck North America and will transition to Amplify Cell Technologies upon meeting customary conditions. Benefits may vary slightly post-transition.
