Accounting Manager Job Description

C1 Inc is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing the daily accounting functions, developing and documenting processes to increase effectiveness, and ensuring timely and accurate financial closings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of 3-5 accounting professionals
  • Work with other Accounting Managers to provide a positive and consistent GL team experience
  • Execute month-end close processes to ensure financial data compliance with GAAP and company policies
  • Review account reconciliations for completion and adherence to US GAAP
  • Approve complex journal entries for support and adherence to US GAAP
  • Strengthen the internal control environment through cross-functional collaboration
  • Lead process improvements and simplifications
  • Provide updates to the Accounting Director and management on accounting issues and lead accounting roles on projects and changes
  • Partner with other departments on compensation program changes, new system implementations, and acquisition integrations
  • Lead and participate in accounting team meetings for consistent communication
  • Participate in internal meetings on new deals with unique accounting requirements
  • Complete personnel management tasks for the accounting team, including interviewing, hiring, goal-setting, performance reviews, coaching, and development
  • Work with internal and external auditors as needed
Qualifications:
  • Four-year college degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 6 years progressive accounting experience
  • At least one year of people management experience
  • High level of proficiency in navigating systems and manipulating data through Excel or other tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely within all levels of the organization
  • Meets deadlines and responds with a sense of urgency
