Role Overview:

We are in search of a dynamic and adaptable Accountant to support small nonprofit organizations. This position is crucial in aiding entities dedicated to serving their local communities.

About You:

Working primarily with smaller organizations that have ambitious goals requires flexibility to meet their diverse needs. Each client presents unique challenges, and your ability to engage and assist them is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and cultivate client relationships.
  • Deliver exceptional service; you will alternate between creating journal entries and establishing bookkeeping policies.
  • Work closely with the internal team to adapt client engagements and ensure lasting partnerships.
  • Become proficient in QuickBooks, utilizing your expertise to identify issues and propose enhancements for clients.

Specific Duties Include:
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive chart of accounts for accurate financial reporting.
  • Record cash receipts and manage bank deposits.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and balance sheet accounts for accuracy.
  • Prepare and issue client invoices while overseeing the accounts receivable process.
  • Execute month-end closing entries.
  • Prepare and present monthly financial statements and additional reports as required.
  • Maintain annual budgets, analyze variances, and communicate significant issues to clients.
  • Process payroll for clients and ensure proper ledger entries.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in an accounting role.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn QuickBooks Desktop/Online.
  • Understanding of nonprofit accounting principles.

Compensation:
Salary range: $60,000 - $75,000
