Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, prepare, and execute educational plans tailored for students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in a supportive learning environment.
  • Deliver high-quality instruction and utilize curriculum materials and educational technology effectively.
  • Develop daily lesson plans and classroom schedules that align with state and institutional standards while addressing the diverse needs of learners.
  • Foster a collaborative atmosphere among students, parents, staff, and administration.
  • Establish and maintain a classroom climate that is firm, fair, and respectful, emphasizing social development and group accountability.
  • Implement Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) strategies to promote positive behavior and classroom management.
  • Adapt curriculum and provide differentiated instruction to meet the varied needs of students.
  • Act as a case manager for special education students, including updating IEPs and goals as necessary.
  • Prepare and organize daily instructional materials for the assigned class.
  • Document and report any incidents, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all students.
  • Maintain the classroom and surrounding areas in a clean and orderly manner, promoting a professional educational setting.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Education or a related field.
  • Compliance with all state teaching certification and licensing requirements.
  • Possession of a special education teaching credential (Mild/Mod or Mod/Severe).
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and new initiatives.
