Description

Solano Community College is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Clinical Nursing Educator. This is a part-time position focused on delivering high-quality education in both clinical and theoretical settings. The teaching responsibilities may include conducting classes during various times, including daytime, evenings, weekends, and online formats as needed. Compensation is provided for instructional hours only, with potential for paid office hours in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.

  • Notification will be provided for any changes affecting teaching assignments.
  • During health emergencies, courses may transition to online formats with minimal notice, requiring additional training for instructors.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

  • Interviews may include a teaching demonstration.
  • Candidates are responsible for their travel expenses related to interviews.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver instruction aligned with established course outlines.
  • Communicate course requirements and evaluate student assignments and exams.
  • Adhere to administrative timelines for documentation and reporting.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and academic records for students.
  • Engage in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum assessment.
  • Support student learning outcomes and provide feedback on course effectiveness.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dean of Health Sciences or Director of Nursing.
  • Foster professional communication and collaboration with colleagues and students.

Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Possession of a current California Registered Nurse License.
  2. Master's Degree in Nursing or a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with two years of relevant experience; or an Associate Degree in Nursing with a minimum of six years of experience.
  3. At least one year of full-time experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care within the last five years, or teaching in an RN pre/post-licensure program for at least one academic year during the same period.
  4. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider Certification for Healthcare Providers.
