Chemistry Instructor

Solano Community College is seeking a highly qualified adjunct faculty member to teach chemistry courses in our Mathematics and Science Division. As a part-time instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, assessing student learning outcomes, and contributing to the development of our chemistry program.

• Teach various areas of chemistry, including beginning chemistry, general chemistry, and chemistry for health sciences.
• Evaluate and provide timely feedback to students on their performance.
• Prepare and grade assignments and examinations.
• Meet administrative timelines and submit required documents and reports.
• Maintain accurate student attendance and scholastic records.
• Participate in the assessment and evaluation of student learning outcomes and program-level outcomes.
• Actively participate in department meetings and maintain regular office hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of Math and Science.

• Sensitivity to students from diverse cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.
• A Master's degree in chemistry or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree in chemistry or biochemistry with a Master's degree in a related field.
• The ability to utilize technology and interactive tools to enhance teaching and learning.
• A commitment to addressing student equity through best-practice teaching methodologies.
