Job Overview

The Wellness Associate reports to the Wellness Director and the Wellness Manager, providing services and care tailored to each Resident based on their individual Service Plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, and mobility as needed.
  • Monitor each Resident's overall physical and mental health, promptly reporting any changes to the Wellness Director.
  • Maintain an inventory of medical supplies and assist with ordering as necessary.
  • Help find shift coverage during unexpected absences.
  • Support the Wellness Director in developing and maintaining assignments.
  • Assist in the orientation and onboarding of new Wellness Associates.
  • Respond to Resident emergencies, providing first aid and coordinating appropriate medical follow-up.
  • Help Residents keep their living spaces clean, organized, and orderly.
  • Promptly attend to Resident needs by answering calls for assistance.
  • Assist Residents with clothing and laundry needs as instructed.
  • Support meal selection, service, and feeding as assigned.
  • Participate in activity programs as assigned.
  • Maintain records in accordance with policy.
  • Keep files organized as needed.
  • Engage in a minimum of 6 hours of in-service education annually.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Compliance and Safety:
  • Adhere to all emergency procedures.
  • Understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with the Wellness Director and other staff members.
  • Immediately inform the Wellness Director and/or Wellness Manager of any changes in a Resident's physical or mental health.
Qualifications:
  • Current State Nurse's Aide registration preferred but not required.
  • Experience and a genuine passion for working with seniors.
  • Able to perform physically demanding tasks, including pushing, bending, and lifting up to 60 pounds.
  • Capable of maintaining positive relationships with Residents, their families, peers, and other staff members.
  • In good physical and emotional health, free of communicable diseases.
Physical Requirements:
  • Physically able to bend and reach.
  • Physically able to push, pull, and lift up to 60 pounds as needed.
  • Physically able to stand for extended periods.
  • May be required to use a Hoyer Lift.
Miscellaneous:
  • May be required to work weekends and holidays as assigned.
  • May be required to work shifts other than the one for which hired.
  • May be required to work extended hours (up to 16 hours per day).
  • Subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and conditions.
  • May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset Residents due to mental status.
  • Background, criminal, and drug tests may be required.
  • May be asked to submit to random drug tests during employment.
  • May have their image used in community advertising.
  • May be video recorded from devices installed by families in Residents' apartments.
