Position Overview

The Wellness Associate will report to the Wellness Director and the Wellness Manager, delivering services and care to each Resident in accordance with their individual Service Plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, and mobility support as needed.
  • Monitor each Resident's overall physical and mental health and promptly report any changes to the Wellness Director.
  • Maintain an inventory of medical supplies and assist with ordering as required.
  • Help coordinate shift coverage during unexpected absences.
  • Support the Wellness Director in managing assignments.
  • Assist in training and onboarding new Wellness Associates.
  • Respond to Resident emergencies; provide first aid and arrange for necessary medical follow-up.
  • Help Residents maintain clean and organized living spaces.
  • Attend to Resident needs promptly in response to assistance calls.
  • Support Residents with clothing and laundry needs as directed.
  • Assist with meal selection, service, and feeding as assigned.
  • Participate in activity programs as required.
  • Maintain records in accordance with company policy.
  • Keep files organized as necessary.
  • Engage in a minimum of 6 hours of in-service education annually.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Compliance and Safety:
  • Adhere to all emergency protocols.
  • Understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Effective communication with the Wellness Director and other staff members.
  • Promptly inform the Wellness Director and/or Wellness Manager of any changes in a Resident's physical or mental health.
Qualifications:
  • Current State Nurse's Aide registration preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience and enthusiasm for working with seniors.
  • Able to perform physically demanding tasks, including pushing, bending, and lifting up to 60 pounds.
  • Maintain positive relationships with Residents, their families, peers, and other staff members.
  • In good physical and emotional health, free from communicable diseases.
Physical Requirements:
  • Physically capable of bending and reaching.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 60 pounds when necessary.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • May be required to use a Hoyer Lift.
Additional Information:
  • May be required to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • May be required to work shifts other than the one for which hired.
  • May be required to work extended hours (up to 16 hours per day).
  • Subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and conditions.
  • May encounter hostile or emotionally distressed Residents due to mental health status.
  • Background checks, criminal history, and drug tests may be required.
  • May be subject to random drug testing during employment.
  • May have their image used in community advertising.
  • May be recorded by devices installed by families in Residents' apartments.
