Job Overview
The Wellness Associate reports directly to the Wellness Director and the Wellness Manager, providing tailored services and care to each Resident according to their individual Service Plan.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist Residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, and mobility support.
- Monitor each Resident's overall physical and mental well-being, promptly reporting any changes to the Wellness Director.
- Maintain an inventory of medical supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
- Help coordinate shift coverage for unexpected absences.
- Support the Wellness Director in developing and maintaining staff assignments.
- Assist in the orientation and onboarding of new Wellness Associates.
- Respond to Resident emergencies, providing first aid and arranging necessary medical follow-up.
- Help Residents keep their living spaces clean and organized.
- Promptly attend to Resident requests for assistance.
- Support Residents with laundry and clothing needs as instructed.
- Assist with meal selection, service, and feeding as assigned.
- Participate in activity programs as assigned.
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with company policy.
- Engage in a minimum of 6 hours of in-service education annually.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Adhere to all emergency procedures.
- Understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the Wellness Director and other staff members.
- Immediately inform the Wellness Director and/or Wellness Manager of any changes in a Resident's physical or mental health.
- Current State Nurse's Aide registration preferred but not required.
- Experience and a genuine passion for working with seniors.
- Able to perform physically demanding tasks, including pushing, bending, and lifting up to 60 pounds.
- Capable of maintaining positive relationships with Residents, their families, peers, and other staff members.
- In good physical and emotional health, free from communicable diseases.
- Physically able to bend, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 60 pounds.
- Capable of standing for extended periods.
- May be required to use a Hoyer Lift.
- May be required to work weekends and holidays as assigned.
- May be required to work shifts other than the one for which hired.
- May be required to work extended hours (up to 16 hours per day).
- Subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and conditions.
- Background checks may be required.
