Position Overview
The Wellness Associate will report to the Wellness Director and the Wellness Manager, providing personalized services and care to each resident according to their individual service plan.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, and mobility support.
- Monitor each resident's overall physical and mental well-being, promptly reporting any changes to the Wellness Director.
- Maintain an inventory of medical supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
- Help coordinate shift coverage during unexpected absences.
- Support the Wellness Director in developing and maintaining staff assignments.
- Assist in the orientation and onboarding of new Wellness Associates.
- Respond to resident emergencies, providing first aid and arranging for necessary medical follow-up.
- Help residents keep their living spaces clean and organized.
- Attend to resident requests and needs in a timely manner.
- Assist with residents' clothing and laundry needs as directed.
- Support meal selection, service, and feeding as assigned.
- Participate in assigned activity programs.
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with company policy.
- Participate in a minimum of 6 hours of in-service education annually.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Adhere to all emergency protocols.
- Understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the Wellness Director and other staff members.
- Immediately inform the Wellness Director and/or Wellness Manager of any changes in residents' physical or mental health.
- Current State Nurse's Aide registration preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience and enthusiasm for working with seniors.
- Able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 60 pounds.
- Capable of maintaining positive relationships with residents, their families, and colleagues.
- In good physical and emotional health, free from communicable diseases.
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 60 pounds as needed.
- Capable of standing for extended periods.
- May require the use of a Hoyer Lift.
- Weekend and holiday work may be required.
- May need to work shifts other than those assigned.
- Extended hours (up to 16 hours per day) may be necessary.
- Exposure to infectious waste and diseases may occur.
- Background checks may be required.
