Position OverviewThe Wellness Associate will report to the Wellness Director and Wellness Manager, providing personalized services and care to each resident according to their individual service plan.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, and mobility as needed.
- Monitor residents' overall physical and mental health, promptly reporting any changes to the Wellness Director.
- Maintain an inventory of medical supplies and assist with ordering as necessary.
- Help coordinate shift coverage during unexpected absences.
- Support the Wellness Director in managing assignments.
- Assist in the orientation and onboarding of new Wellness Associates.
- Respond to resident emergencies, providing first aid and arranging for necessary medical follow-up.
- Help residents maintain clean and orderly living spaces.
- Attend to resident needs promptly upon request.
- Assist with residents' clothing and laundry needs as directed.
- Support meal selection, service, and feeding as assigned.
- Participate in assigned activity programs.
- Maintain accurate records as per company policy.
- Participate in a minimum of 6 hours of in-service education annually.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Adhere to all emergency procedures.
- Understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the Wellness Director and other staff members.
- Report any changes in residents' physical and mental health to the Wellness Director and/or Wellness Manager immediately.
- Current State Nurse's Aide registration preferred but not required.
- Experience and enthusiasm for working with seniors.
- Able to perform physically demanding tasks, including pushing, bending, and lifting up to 60 pounds.
- Maintain positive relationships with residents, their families, peers, and other staff members.
- In good physical and emotional health, free from communicable diseases.
- Ability to bend and reach.
- Capable of pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 60 pounds as needed.
- Able to stand for extended periods.
- May be required to use a Hoyer Lift.
- Weekend and holiday work may be required.
- Shifts may vary from those originally assigned.
- Extended hours (up to 16 hours per day) may be necessary.
- Exposure to infectious waste and diseases may occur.
- Background checks may be conducted.
