We are seeking a highly skilled Performance Characterization Test Engineer to join our team at Western Digital. As a key member of our storage solutions team, you will be responsible for designing and executing performance characterization tests for our enterprise storage products.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute performance characterization test plans to ensure our storage products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, customer technical support, and marketing, to ensure our products meet customer needs and expectations.
- Analyze test results and identify areas for improvement, working with development teams to implement changes and optimize product performance.
- Develop and maintain test scripts and automation tools to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency.
- Communicate test results and recommendations to stakeholders, including development teams, customer technical support, and marketing.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science, with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in performance characterization testing.
- Strong understanding of storage systems, including HDDs, SSDs, and storage protocols.
- Experience with performance analysis tools and techniques, including data analysis and visualization.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
- Experience with storage system design and development.
- Knowledge of storage protocols, including SATA, SAS, and NVMe.
- Experience with performance optimization techniques, including caching, queuing, and scheduling.
- Strong understanding of data storage and management systems.
