Job Title: Manufacturing Automation Specialist
Job Summary:
Aegis Worldwide is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Automation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Control Systems Troubleshooting: Maintain control systems for manufacturing equipment and processes, including PLC programming, HMI development, and integrating various sensors and actuators for automated operations.
- Process Optimization: Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, productivity, and quality. Develop and implement solutions to streamline operations, reduce cycle times, and minimize waste.
- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of automated manufacturing equipment. Develop preventive maintenance schedules, conduct routine inspections, and coordinate repairs as needed to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to establish and maintain quality standards for manufacturing processes. Implement control measures to monitor product quality, identify defects, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen events. Drive initiatives to enhance process efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall operational performance.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate documentation of control systems, programming codes, and process changes. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, such as ISO, OSHA, and automotive quality requirements.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, maintenance, and quality assurance to support manufacturing operations. Communicate effectively to address issues, implement solutions, and drive collaborative problem-solving.
- Training and Support: Provide training and technical support to production personnel on the operation and maintenance of automated systems. Develop training materials and procedures to ensure safe and efficient utilization of manufacturing equipment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field).
- Proven experience in controls programming, preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in PLC programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, structured text) and HMI development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing systems.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, automation technologies, and quality management principles.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen is desirable.
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
