Position Overview

The Recreational Vocational Program Coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing vocational training initiatives aimed at equipping unaccompanied minors with essential job skills that prepare them for successful transitions into adulthood. This role involves meticulous documentation of all vocational activities, detailing aspects such as the specific vocation or trade, qualifications of staff or volunteers, frequency and duration of training sessions, partnerships with community organizations, course content, and the capacity for student enrollment.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A degree in a Human Services-related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in ORR Residential Care Services is mandatory.
  • Prior experience working with youth, either professionally or as a volunteer, is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential.
  • Experience in child and youth care programs is necessary.
  • Direct care staff must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.

  • Capability to manage and uphold confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Exhibit emotional intelligence for effective self-care and serve as a role model for the youth care team.
  • Understanding of the importance of cultural diversity, with the ability to create inclusive systems and practices responsive to the cultural needs of the clientele.
  • Adherence to established policies and procedures is essential.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and peers to meet organizational goals.
  • Note: Willingness to undergo training at various locations as determined upon hiring is required.
