WORK EXPERIENCE: Experience in the Vaccines for Children program is required.

SALARY RANGE: Based on experience

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt/Exempt

POSITION TYPE: Full-Time

LANGUAGE: Proficiency in English; Bilingual in English and Spanish, Arabic, Burmese, Chinese, or other languages is necessary.

JOB SUMMARY:

The LVN will deliver safe and compassionate nursing care while advocating for patient safety at the Asian American Health Coalition. The LVN will operate within the legal framework and scope of practice for an LVN, adhering to the policies and procedures of the organization. This role will also serve as a clinical leader for Medical Assistants across multiple locations, modeling high-quality care for pediatric, family, and obstetric patients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as the vaccination coordinator for the Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program and the primary contact for the Immtrac Vaccine Registry.
  • Provide clinical training to Medical Assistants at various clinic sites, ensuring competency in skills such as Infection Control and patient care procedures.
  • Supervise Medical Assistants across multiple locations.
  • Monitor lab results and ensure submission of reportable disease documentation.
  • Assist the procurement team in standardizing medical inventory.
  • Participate in audits related to infection control, quality control, and clinical documentation.
  • Support patient care activities, including medical procedures and patient screening, while utilizing age-appropriate care methods.
  • Engage in quality assurance initiatives.
  • Attend community engagement activities and training sessions as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to uphold the mission and values of the Asian American Health Coalition.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Licensed as a Vocational Nurse (LVN) and certified in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Certification as a Vaccines for Children Coordinator is required.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Experience with supply and inventory management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Bilingual skills (Vietnamese, Chinese, Arabic, and/or Spanish in addition to English) are preferred.
  • Exceptional language abilities, public speaking, and writing skills.
  • Possession of reliable transportation and a valid Texas Driver's license.
