Educational Support Specialist

Amergis Educational Staffing is currently in search of:

School Support Personnel for the upcoming academic year.

Position Overview:

The specific hours for each school site will be determined later. This role involves working closely with students who require both instructional and behavioral support under the guidance of the special education team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students in achieving their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, including areas such as mathematics, literacy, communication, and self-management skills.
  • Support teacher-led educational activities, which may include lesson execution, resource preparation, and small group facilitation.
  • Provide assistance to students integrated into general education settings.
  • Relay essential information to educators regarding student progress and needs.
  • Supervise students during non-instructional periods, including recess and lunch, as well as during community-based activities.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality concerning all student-related matters.
  • Support prescribed programs developed by related service professionals.
  • Assist students in developing independent living skills, including personal hygiene and self-care routines.
  • Implement behavior management strategies as directed by educational professionals.
  • Aid teachers with administrative tasks, including preparing materials and maintaining an organized classroom environment.
  • Assist with student mobility and transfers as necessary.
  • Report any changes in student status as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Adhere to all relevant professional standards.
  • Complete Amergis' competency training as required.
  • Current CPR certification and health documentation as mandated.
  • Meet all federal, state, and local qualifications.
  • Possess strong communication skills and proficiency in English.
  • Demonstrate computer literacy.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
