Elementary Principal
I. GENERAL OVERVIEW
The role involves the preparation and management of files, reports, and records of both administrative and confidential nature. This position requires assistance in gathering and compiling data for special reports, which may involve minor research and initiative. The job encompasses various clerical tasks that necessitate a comprehensive understanding of office practices and procedures, along with frequent public interactions.
II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Serve as the primary receptionist for the building, managing phone and intercom communications.
2. Provide support to substitute personnel upon their arrival.
3. Assist educators with correspondence and reports as sanctioned by the principal.
4. Maintain a bookkeeping system utilizing an online accounting platform.
5. Accurately track enrollment and withdrawal records, including requesting and sending student records as necessary.
6. Support the cashier with daily deposits and financial accounting.
7. Order and manage supplies and materials, ensuring an adequate inventory of expendable items.
8. Prepare and submit daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
9. Maintain records related to book fees and medical documentation.
10. Provide assistance to the school nurse in their absence.
III. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
1. Education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma.
2. Proficient knowledge of contemporary office practices, current software applications, and business English, including spelling and related subjects.
3. Competence in keyboarding, maintaining office files and records, and compiling reports from standardized data.
4. Ability to foster effective working relationships with district personnel at all levels, demonstrating sound judgment in administrative decision-making.
5. Proficiency in operating office machinery, including photocopiers, computers, printers, calculators, and telecommunication devices, along with skills in alphabetizing and filing tasks.
