Position Summary

The role involves coordinating all necessary activities to effectively layout work, set up appropriate machinery or equipment to meet or exceed fabrication, assembly, and customer specifications as per design requirements and established schedules. The position aims to utilize resources efficiently to minimize waste, materials, and labor costs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Skilled in machining experimental configurations according to specifications provided by management within set timelines.
  • Possesses working knowledge and/or training in vertical milling machines (both manual and CNC), engine lathes, and vertical band saws.
  • Collaborates with management to report any discrepancies in blueprints, bills of materials, setup sheets, or routing that may impact design integrity, facilitating necessary engineering updates.
  • Operates with minimal supervision to accurately complete assigned tasks.
  • Provides assistance to colleagues as needed.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • A 2-year certificate from a technical institution or an accredited journeyman program is preferred, along with at least one year of relevant experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and comprehend various forms of written and verbal instructions.
  • Capability to write simple correspondence.
  • Effectively presents information and responds to inquiries from managers, supervisors, and other employees.
  • Proficient in basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in various units of measure.
  • Understanding of fundamental geometric concepts.
  • Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled formats.
