The role involves coordinating all necessary activities to effectively plan work, set up appropriate machinery, and ensure that fabrication and customer requirements are met according to design specifications and established schedules. The position emphasizes the efficient use of resources to minimize waste in materials and labor.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Consistently achieving and surpassing deadlines for assigned tasks.
- Producing components that meet or exceed quality standards as defined by supervisory personnel.
- Properly and safely performing setups and operations on the following machinery:
- Shear
- Riveter
- Drill Press
- Strippit Punch Press
- Roller
- Disk Sander
- Portable Power Tools
- Band Saw, Table Saw, and Miter Saw
- Hand Brake
- Manual Brake Press
- Mill
- Lathe
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience and/or training.
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication is preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret various forms of written and verbal instructions, including blueprints.
- Effective communication skills to present information and respond to inquiries from management and colleagues.
- Mathematical proficiency in basic operations and understanding of geometry.
- Capability to follow instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Forklift and overhead crane training and certification are preferred.
The physical demands for this position include:
- Regularly standing for up to 8 hours per day.
- Using hands for handling, reaching, and talking.
- Occasionally climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, bending, or crouching.
- Lifting and/or moving up to 60 pounds regularly.
- Working in heat and possessing specific vision abilities such as close vision and depth perception.
The work environment characteristics include:
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, dust, and airborne particles.
- Noise levels that are typically loud, necessitating hearing protection.
- Mandatory use of eye and foot protection at all times.
