Job Summary

IPSEN is seeking a highly skilled Assembly Operations Specialist to coordinate all activities required to effectively lay out work, set up appropriate machines or equipment to meet or exceed assembly demands and customer requirements per design specifications and published schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work Planning and Coordination: Coordinate all activities required to effectively lay out work, set up appropriate machines or equipment to meet or exceed assembly demands and customer requirements per design specifications and published schedules.
  • Resource Utilization: Efficiently utilize resources to minimize scrap, materials, and labor.
  • Blueprint Reading and Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate assembly and production.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate power tools and equipment such as band saw, table saw, manual hand brake, drill, grinder, etc.
  • Material Handling: Handle and work with different types of material: felt insulation, ceramic, graphite, carbon fiber, molybdenum, stainless steel, carbon steel, etc.
  • Documentation: Document work process, issues, and usage of material or excess material/parts.
  • Communication: Communicate with team leader and supervisor in all forms of communication.
  • Work Area Organization: Organize work area and keep it clean and safe daily.
  • Task Accomplishment: Work with minimal supervision to accurately accomplish any given task.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and Skills: Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and comprehend all forms of written and/or verbal instructions including but not limited to basic correspondence and blueprints.
  • Communication Skills: Effectively able to present information and respond to questions from managers, supervisors, and other employees of the organization.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, angles, and volume. Knowledge of basic concepts of geometry.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to apply a common sense approach and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Education and Experience
  • Education: Minimum of 1 year related assembly experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Must have a High School Degree or GED equivalent. Experience working with a forklift preferred. Fork lift and overhead crane training and certification preferred.

  • Regularly required to stand up to 10 hours per day.
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, bend or crouch.
  • Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Regularly requires close vision, hearing and talking.
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, dust and carbon in the air, or other airborne particles that may require respiratory protection.
  • Regular exposure to loud noise level that may require hearing protection.
  • Eye protection and foot protection is required at all times.
