Position Summary:
The role involves coordinating all necessary tasks to efficiently set up and operate machinery, ensuring that fabrication and customer specifications are met or exceeded. The focus is on optimizing resource use to reduce waste in materials and labor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet and surpass deadlines for assigned responsibilities.
- Produce components that consistently meet quality benchmarks as determined by supervisory staff.
- Safely set up and operate various machinery, including but not limited to:
- Shear
- Riveter
- Drill Press
- Strippit Punch Press
- Roller
- Disk Sander
- Portable Power Tools
- Band Saw, Table Saw, and Miter Saw
- Hand Brake
- Manual Brake Press
- Mill
- Lathe
Qualifications:
To excel in this position, candidates should possess the following:
- A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience or training.
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Preferred experience in sheet metal fabrication.
- Ability to read and interpret various forms of instructions, including blueprints.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with management and peers.
- Proficiency in basic mathematical operations and concepts.
- Familiarity with fundamental geometry principles.
- Capability to follow instructions in various formats.
- Preferred certification in forklift and overhead crane operation.
Physical Requirements:
This position demands the ability to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 60 pounds, and working in varying temperatures. Vision capabilities required include close, distance, and color vision.
Work Environment:
Employees may encounter moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and high noise levels, necessitating appropriate protective equipment.
