Compensation:
Level I: $37, Full State Employee Benefits
Level II: $40, Full State Employee Benefits
Level III: $43, Full State Employee Benefits
Note: A Master's Degree in Social Work qualifies for a 5% salary incentive.

On-call Opportunities: Additional bonuses ranging from $100 to $150 bi-weekly may be available based on specific responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:
Child Welfare Advocate, Level I:
- Completion of 90 hours from an accredited institution;
- 3 years of relevant experience;
- A combination of education and experience.
Child Welfare Advocate, Level II:
- A bachelor's degree in any discipline;
- One year of experience as a Child Welfare Advocate.
Child Welfare Advocate, Level III:
- A Master's degree;
- A Bachelor's degree plus one year of experience;
- Two years of experience as a Child Welfare Advocate.

Key Responsibilities:
This position may involve various duties within Child Welfare Programs, including:

  • Child Protective Services (CPS):
    - Investigating reports of child abuse or neglect.
    - Ensuring the safety of children and providing support to families facing challenges.
  • Family Centered Services (FCS):
    - Strengthening the protective capacities of parents to maintain children in their homes, focusing on safety and stability.
  • Permanency Planning (PP):
    - Collaborating with families to develop treatment plans that include family participation.
    - Arranging suitable placements for children that address their medical, educational, and physical needs.
    - Facilitating the return of children to their homes when feasible and establishing permanent plans when necessary.

Training Program:
All new employees will complete the Child Welfare Core Academy Training Program, which includes:

  • Learning about treatment and preventive services.
  • Conducting assessments of children and families.
  • Connecting families and children with community services.
  • Participating in investigations of abuse and neglect, and preparing necessary documentation.
  • Attending court hearings and providing testimony.
  • Consulting with legal representatives and tribal partners regarding child protection and family reunification efforts.
  • Delivering direct services to children in placements.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Travel Requirements:
Extensive travel is required for this position. A valid driver's license and maintained car insurance are necessary. State vehicles will be provided for job-related travel.
