Our HVAC Technicians are mobile professionals who utilize a variety of trade skills, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, locksmithing, painting, and roofing, to serve a wide range of clients within a designated geographical area. Technicians are equipped with a company vehicle, tools, and necessary equipment. They operate from their home base and access their daily assignments through company-provided devices.

Position Overview:

The HVAC Technician II will play a crucial role in supporting the Maintenance Manager with preventative, corrective, and general maintenance tasks. Responsibilities include conducting daily assessments of HVAC systems, maintaining a tidy work environment, and executing various other tasks as directed by the Maintenance Manager or Lead Maintenance Technician, all while adhering to safety and health regulations. The Technician is tasked with performing preventative maintenance according to the CMMS schedule and assisting fellow Maintenance Technicians with repairs across electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. All activities must comply with manufacturing standards and established processes to ensure client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preventive maintenance on HVAC systems in accordance with CMMS scheduling, including filter and belt changes, cleaning coils, and checking condensate drains.
  • Install lighting ballasts and bulbs as requested through CMMS work orders.
  • Assist the Lead Technician or Maintenance Technician III in the repair and maintenance of refrigerants, heat exchangers, HVAC equipment, electrical systems, and other mechanical and electrical apparatus.
  • Evaluate the operation of various systems, identify issues, and implement corrective measures as necessary.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by providing timely updates on service requests.
  • Perform routine inspections and report any equipment malfunctions or potential issues to the Maintenance Manager or Lead Technician.
  • Document maintenance and repair activities accurately and promptly.
  • Manage time effectively and maintain productivity while working independently.
  • Maintain tools and order supplies necessary for repairs and installations.
  • Adhere to safety protocols for the storage, use, and disposal of hazardous materials, ensuring a clean and safe workspace.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and testing instruments safely to maintain and repair equipment.
  • Follow safety practices and utilize personal protective equipment as required by OSHA regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial air conditioning systems, including chillers, water pumps, cooling towers, and split systems.
  • Valid State Driver's License.
  • CFC Universal Certification is a plus.
  • Trade School Certification is advantageous.
  • Proficient in computer usage.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this position include standing for extended periods, walking, using hands for manual tasks, and lifting up to 70 pounds. The role may require climbing stairs and ladders and tolerating various environmental conditions.

Work Environment:

Technicians may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical hazards, and varying weather conditions. Daily driving of a company vehicle is required.
