Key Responsibilities:

  • Define hardware and software safety specifications throughout the entire product lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct thorough safety evaluations for development systems, providing actionable insights to enhance system design and operational protocols.
  • Create and manage essential safety documentation, including Safety Program Plans, Hazard Assessments, Functional Hazard Analyses, and reports on compliance issues.
  • Review engineering designs and operational procedures for safety implications, preparing detailed reports as necessary.
  • Perform audits of operational systems to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Lead the development and implementation of safety strategies for new product and system innovations.
  • Engage in root cause analysis and quality assurance processes as required.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in safety planning, assessments, and audits.
  • U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Certifications related to Product or Infrastructure Design Safety.
  • Experience with cryogenic systems and related technologies.
  • Knowledge of mechanical components and processes relevant to extreme temperature environments.
  • Experience in facility design and construction within industrial sectors.
  • A strong understanding of the full product lifecycle with an emphasis on manufacturability and reliability.
