Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer to join our team at Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC). The successful candidate will serve as a technical authority in environmental engineering programs, providing guidance on storage tank and petroleum compliance work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply federal and state environmental laws and regulations to integrate environmental factors into facilities and operations.
  • Interpret environmental legislation and regulations to determine potential impact on facility operations.
  • Support the planning, design, and execution process to address environmental requirements.
  • Develop written studies, reports, procedures, plans, correspondence, and briefing materials to ensure effectiveness of environmental projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field.
  • Current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) from any state, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
  • At least one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent in the Federal service or private sector.
