Senior Planner/Architect/Engineer

You will serve as an interdisciplinary planner/designer/constructor in the planning, design, and construction directorate, design division, project planning branch of Naval Facilities Engineering Command.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical representation on planning projects supporting the development of facility plans and objectives.
- Consult with stakeholders on project planning, using knowledge of concepts and practices for facilities like offices, heating plants, industrial shops, utilities, and recreational areas on military installations.
- Prepare project planning documentation, including detailed project descriptions, facility studies, cost estimates, site approvals, and environmental assessments.
- Apply standards, codes, and practices in project planning, engineering, or architecture to guide the DD1391 process from concept to scope development.
- Analyze engineering, management, and economic data to coordinate with leadership and staff across mission commands, installations, departments, tenant and support commands, headquarters, and other military services.
- Communicate ideas and issues clearly and concisely to collaborate effectively with technical personnel in urban planning, engineering, architecture, landscape design, environmental, transportation, and communications fields.
- Current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect (RA) from any state, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
- At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
- Applying facilities planning standards to develop detailed planning documents and project scopes.
- Using planning theories and methods to advise other planners on complex facilities issues and basic facilities requirements (BFRs).
- Identifying problem areas in project planning and suggesting solutions.

FOR THE GS-0020, Professional Community Planning Series:
Have successfully completed a community planning degree, or a degree in a related discipline such as urban affairs, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, sociology, geography, economics, political science, or public administration that included at least 12 semester hours in the planning process, socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, urban and regional economic analysis, and development finance.
FOR THE GS-0801, Professional Engineering Series:
Have successfully completed a bachelor's degree (or higher) in engineering.
FOR THE GS-0808, Professional Architecture Series:
Have a bachelor's or higher degree in architecture, or a degree in a related field that included 60 semester hours of coursework in architecture or related disciplines.
