Job Summary

Bristol Infrastructure Designs Services, LLC is seeking a seasoned Construction Manager to support the Navy mission (NAVFAC MID-LANT) in Norfolk, VA. The ideal candidate will provide technical expertise and services related to all phases of construction on various projects within the AOR.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with NAVFAC requirements and positions, engaging with multiple levels of authority to obtain decisive action from all affected parties.
  • Review pre-final contract drawings and specifications for constructability and compatibility with actual field conditions.
  • Participate in pre-award contract meetings, including Functional Analysis Concept Development (FACDs) meetings and constructability reviews.
  • Coordinate post-award contract meetings, such as post-award kickoff meetings, preconstruction conferences, partnering meetings, schedule acceptance meetings, design review meetings, LEED coordination meetings, and final inspections.
  • Review contractor administrative submittals, including schedules, environmental protection plans, design and construction quality control plans, health and safety plans, and accident prevention plans.
  • Visit construction sites to monitor progress and solicit input from Engineering Technician/Quality Assurance (ET/QA) representatives.
  • Provide technical solutions to unforeseen problems during construction, including reviewing field changes with no impact on function, scope, cost, or schedule.
  • Prepare project status updates for senior Government personnel within the field office.
  • Complete required items to assist in effectively closing out a contract, including tracking receipt and delivery of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and warranty documents.
Requirements
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a Construction Manager, Project Manager, Field Engineer, or Quality Control Manager on commercial/industrial type facilities, utility, or waterfront-related contracts valued in excess of $5 million.
  • Sound understanding of overall supervision of construction operations.
  • Sound understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and practices applicable to construction.
