Job Overview
APTIM Federal Services, LLC is hiring a mid-level Civil/Environmental Engineer to support various Federal contracts in our Norfolk, VA office. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in environmental site characterization and remediation, including initial investigation, civil site work, and site restoration.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering staff to interpret data, develop design documents, and perform detailed engineering analyses.
- Apply engineering skills to complete assigned tasks, managing time to meet schedule, budget, and quality targets.
- Prepare work plans, including erosion and sediment control plans and stormwater pollution prevention plans.
- Participate in field tasks, such as collecting environmental samples and implementing remedial actions.
- Ensure conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Monitor regulatory requirements and stay up-to-date on industry trends.
- Mentor junior engineering staff.
- Embbody a "Safety First" work ethic.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in civil and/or environmental engineering.
- BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
- Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam and on track to obtain a Professional Engineer license.
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training with current 8-hour refresher certificate required.
- USACE Construction Quality Management Training preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, as well as other engineering software programs.
- Ability to wear proper PPE and work in hazardous waste sites.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to work overtime and travel for project deadlines.
