Responsible for accurate insurance verification, coding, collection of patient financial responsibilities, and cashiering duties for patients.

QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum of one year experience in a hospital or clinic registration environment.

Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.

Basic computer skills are necessary.

Strong verbal and written communication abilities are essential.

JOB RELATIONSHIPS (INTERNAL/EXTERNAL)

Regular interaction with patients, third-party payers, departments, and other stakeholders to exchange information. Adjusts communication style to meet the developmental and educational needs of each patient.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Embody the customer service values of the organization, which are vital for delivering high-quality service to patients and clients.


Review patient financial data promptly and accurately prior to admission when feasible, and within one business day for unscheduled admissions.

Identify and confirm liable third parties.

Collect patient liabilities and arrange payment plans in accordance with established policies.

Contact third-party insurers to ascertain pre-certification or payment requirements and ensure compliance.

Coordinate follow-up for pending Medicaid patients and those from out-of-state with relevant vendors.

Address inquiries from walk-in clients regarding outstanding billing and collection matters.

Perform cashier responsibilities.

Safeguard and return valuables from storage.
