Responsible for accurate insurance verification, coding, collection of patient financial obligations, and cashiering duties for patients.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of one year experience in a hospital or clinic registration setting
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred
  • Basic computer skills necessary
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities

JOB RELATIONSHIPS

Regular interaction with patients, insurance providers, various departments, and other stakeholders to exchange and gather information. Adjusts communication style to accommodate the unique needs of each patient based on their age and developmental stage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Exemplifies the customer service values of the organization, ensuring high-quality service delivery to patients and clients.

* Reviews patient financial data promptly and accurately prior to scheduled admissions, and within one business day for unscheduled admissions. Identifies and confirms liable third-party payers.


3. * Collects patient financial responsibilities and arranges payment plans in accordance with established policies.

4. * Engages with third-party insurers to ascertain pre-certification or payment prerequisites and ensures compliance.

5. * Manages follow-up for pending and out-of-state Medicaid patients in collaboration with external vendors.

6. * Addresses inquiries from walk-in clients regarding outstanding billing and collection matters.

7. * Performs cashiering functions.

8. * Safeguards and disburses patient valuables from storage.
